Gifts For Someone Who Likes To Travel
This guide is a bit different from our usual content, but we hope it will still be helpful nonetheless! Sometimes it can be tricky to find a good gift for someone in your life who loves to travel, especially if you’re not a huge traveler yourself, so we thought we would create a little gift guide to help you with some ideas!

Thoughtful Gifts for Travel Lovers
We’ve decided to break this list of gift ideas up into a few sections. This first group will be some fun ideas that your traveler can enjoy while at home in between their vacations!
1. Exchange Life Collectible Charms
One of our personal favorite gifts was a handful of charms modeled after the countries that we’ve traveled to so far! We opted to keep them on a key chain (that came with the purchase), but the same company also makes jewelry if you think that’s a better fit instead!
Exchange Life Official also offers charms in the shape of US states if that is more suitable for your collection – either way we think the end result is super cute!

2. Personal Photo Album
This one requires a bit (a lot) more time & energy than a typical gift, but one of the best things to receive as someone who loves to travel is a physical photo album of one of your trips! My favorite thing to do is to gift this to someone I’ve gone a the trip with, and then we can both have a fun photo album to store our memories and pull off the shelf to look at on a rainy day!
I do have a personal preference of the type of photo album I usually purchase, mostly because the same design comes in a handful of colors and I think the consistency looks really nice on my bookshelf! I have linked that brand (Pioneer Photo Albums) below, but any album will do 🙂

3. Destination Themed Cookbooks
Another fun gift I love to prop up in my kitchen or windowsill is a travel-themed cookbook! There are so many options out there to choose from, and they can be used as decoration even if your buddy isn’t that great of a cook!
I personally am very driven by the photos in these cookbooks as I like to prop them up wistfully while I wait for my next trip 🙂 I have linked a couple of my favorites below, but there are tons of choices to choose from if you take a walk through your local bookstore!

4. International Snack Boxes
If the person you’re shopping for isn’t into cooking, but still would love a taste of some international cuisine, another fun gift is a subscription to a series of snack box deliveries! These services will deliver a box full of goodies from around the world each month so that you can try new foods that are popular in other regions of the world! A couple popular brands are Try The World and Universal Yums 🙂
Practical Travel Gifts
This section of gift ideas will be centered around things we’ve found can make a gift go more smoothly, or are just nice to have while traveling!
5. All in One Toiletry Bag
While this one might not sound super glamorous, it’s by far one of the most used + helpful items in our bags while traveling. Instead of having to carry a bunch of individually packed toiletries or makeup to and from the bathroom at each hotel (or worse – down the hall at some hostels :D), getting an all-in-one bag makes the beginning & end of each day just a little bit easier.
Sorry in advance for how beat up our bag looks in the photo, we really do use it often and have had it for years. It’s also a great thing to just keep a second set of toiletries in for a quick grab-and-go weekend bag!

6. Filtering Water Bottle
This next one is more precautionary than anything else, but I think every experienced traveler knows one of the fastest ways to turn a trip sour is suffering from a stomach bug. Often times this occurs from ingesting bacteria that is local to a region that your own immune system isn’t used to. If water isn’t safe in a certain area, the best move is to drink from bottled water. But even if water is potable, sometimes it just helps for ease of mind to use a filter as well.
One brand well known for its ability to filter on-the-go is Larq. An additional benefit of this brand is that even if you’re not worried about your water, it is able to self clean the bottle itself in between uses. We think it’s a great addition to any backpacker’s expedition!

7. Travel Bags
Another game changer for a frequent traveler is a nice travel bag. There are a couple of key features to look for when gifting a good bag: 1) durable quality that can take a beating (travel can be tough!) and last through the years, and 2) a “clown car” styled bag that has a deceptive amount of departments to store your things in!
There are many great brands out there to choose from, so definitely spend the time to find one that fits your style, but we’ve selected a couple of recommendations in case it’s helpful as well! For trips that involve air travel, it’s probably best to find a solid suitcase with a hard exterior to protect your things. For roadtrips, it can be nice to have a smaller duffle bag!

8. Passport Holder
This one can be easy to overlook, but really is a game changer once you get one! A passport holder is compact yet dimensioned to fit the size of passport book. Since passports are larger than most wallets, but important documents that shouldn’t be floating around in your bag freely, a passport holder really does improve your experience on trips!
We promise to keep updating this list as we think of more gifts we’ve loved ourselves. Please let us know what your favorite travel gift is in the comments below!
