The Best Places to Visit in Southern Portugal

Portugal is a well traveled, beautiful coastal destination in western Europe. It is home to so many dream destinations that it can hard to pin down exactly where you want to go on your trip! This is where I chose to go – and highly recommend – for your first visit to the south of Portugal!

1. Lagos

The city of Lagos is a small coastal town in the south of Portugal. Since it is seated cliffside, it offers some of the best views of the Atlantic Ocean in all of Europe! 2. Vila Nova de Milfontes

Vila Nova de Milfontes is another beach escape on the coast of southern Portugal. A popular vacation spot for the locals in Portugal, this is a great spot to add to your itinerary if you’re looking to maximize relaxation time! 3. Lisbon

Finally, no trip to Portugal is complete without a stop in Lisbon. About halfway up the country, Lisbon is a great way to cap off your roadtrip through southern Portugal before your flight home.
