The Best Christmas Markets & Villages Near Philadelphia

While everyone loves the convenience of online shopping, there’s still nothing quite like a stroll through a seasonal Christmas Village and stumbling upon a gift you think someone will love that you would have never been able to think of yourself! Luckily you don’t need to travel far from Philly to experience the fun. Continue reading for a list of Christmas Markets & Villages near Philadelphia, PA.

1. The Philadelphia Christmas Market

First and foremost, be sure to check out the Philadelphia Christmas Market right in the heart of Philly! This open air holiday market fills the iconic LOVE Park & City Hall plaza with local pop-up stands, an ice skating rink, warm food, general holiday cheer & more.

Even if you’re not in the mood to shop, it’s definitely still worth grabbing your friends or family and heading into Center City to enjoy the festivities. The Christmas Village opens up in late November annually, and remains open until Christmas Eve.

The Philadelphia Christmas Village is open on the weekends (Thursday through Sunday) from 12:00pm – 8:00pm, with extended hours until 9:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets are not required.

2. Peddler’s Village Holiday Shops

Another classic around the holiday season is a visit to Peddler’s Village. Not only does this cozy square of shops offer high quality gifts, but it also hosts photos with Santa, gingerbread house competitions, music, and other festive events!

Peddler’s Village is open year round, but their winter holiday activities & decor begin at the end of November and run through Christmas Eve. Typical store hours run from 10:00 am – 9:00pm daily, with shortened hours on Sunday from 11:00am – 7:00pm. Tickets are not required for Peddler’s Village unless you would like to attend a special event.

Peddler’s Village is located about an hour outside of Philadelphia, at Routes 202 & 263 Lahaska, PA 18931.

3. Yuletide at Liberty Hill

A ticketed event due to its additional attractions, another big holiday market near Philly is the Yuletide at Liberty Hill festival. You will not only find 20+ market vendors to shop at, but also many rides, games, live music, and family friendly holiday activities.

The Yuletide is open from later November though early January in Lafayette Hill at 800 Ridge Pike. Tickets can be bought either in advance or at the entrance (if available).

4. Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem

One of the oldest and largest Christmas markets in the region is Bethlehem’s Christkindlmarkt! This indoor vendor extravaganza is hosted in the Steel Stacks, and is always full of a plethora of trinkets and gifts to prepare for the holidays! The Christkindlmarkt is open on the weekends from late November – December, though I should note that this market does require purchased tickets just to enter.

5. Clover Market’s Holiday Market

Though only a two day event, mark your calendars for the Clover Market’s Holiday Market if you’re near West Chester, PA! This holiday market features 100+ vendors to explore, along with a handful of food shops and workshops!

This holiday market is located at the Westtown School Athletic Center, 975 Westtown Road in West Chester, PA, about 45 minutes outside of Philadelphia.

6. Prussian Street Arcade

If you’re willing to drive a bit, the Prussian Street Arcade is a vast market that is home to over a hundred local vendors & small businesses in their boutiques. In the winter, the arcade hosts a Holiday Handmade Market perfect for gift shopping. This is a worthwhile trip for anyone looking to do a little homemade or vintage shopping.

The Prussian Street Arcade is open 10:00am – 6:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, with limited hours on Sunday from noon to 4:00 pm. The arcade is closed on Mondays.

Located in Manheim, the Prussian Street Arcade is about a 90 minute drive from Philadelphia.

7. Kitchen Kettle Village

While open year round, Kitchen Kettle Village is a perfect spot to add to your shopping spree during the winter holidays. From consumable treats to accessories to local novelties – you’ll be sure to find some great gifts to give away this holiday season! Schedule your visit on a weekend starting in late November for additional holiday decor and activities in the village.

Kitchen Kettle Village is located at 3529 Philadelphia Pike, Intercourse PA – about an 80 minute drive from Philly.


Bonus: Philly Christmas Lights Trolley Tour

While not a Christmas Village, if you are looking for other fun activities to do with your friends & family to celebrate the holiday spirit, book yourself a ticket on the Philadelphia Holiday Trolley! This trolley tour will take you on a two-hour tour around Philadelphia to look at seasonal light shows and festive corners of the city, with a live musician on board to lead the group in singing classic holiday tunes, and an emcee to keep the vibes high!
