Tropical Garden Villa Review | Casa de Campo

I’ll just cut to the chase with this one – the Tropical Garden Villa is amazing and I highly recommend you book it for your visit to Casa de Campo, especially if you are visiting for a bachelorette trip, bachelor trip, or any other large-party event. It was absolutely phenomenal. Below I’ll walk you through my experience at the villa!

The Location

The Tropical Garden Villa is located within the resort of Case de Campo in the Dominican Republic. Resort feels like a bit of an understatement though, as Case de Campo is over 7,000 acres in size, making itself a luxurious coastal destination for anyone looking for a beach getaway.

Casa de Campo is situated with La Romana in the Dominican Republic, and has a golf course, marina, full service beach, restaurants, bars, and shops all on site within the resort.

There is really anything you could possibly need for a vacation onsite at the resort – so for location you are all set once you get there! The Tropical Garden Villa was walking distance to the beach, but you can also rent golf carts or cars to drive yourself around the resort (which we used to get to the marina).

Getting to Casa de Campo was also a breeze as it is under an hour’s drive from Punta Cana, one of the Dominican Republic’s major international airport hubs!

The Contact Information & Booking

The host of the villa who manages the property, Nicole, was also very accommodating, kind, and easy to talk with upon arrival! She quickly showed us the basics and answered our questions about the villa and her positive demeanor really added to the good experience – as I was there celebrating a bachelorette trip so it’s always great to have good vibes on those trips!

Booking the villa was easy & straight forward to do online, with a cancellation date available for a refund so it was stress free to make the original reservation to save the date. The host also was responsive with questions through the booking portal.

The Tropical Garden Villa bookings are hosted through the Vrbo reservation platform, so the interface was user friendly and easy to navigate throughout the process.

    The Onsite Staff

A huge feature of the Tropical Garden Villa is that it comes fully staffed, which adds to the luxury feel & ease of using this as your accommodation while in Casa de Campo!

The villa’s staff includes a chef, a butler, a maid, and a gardener for the grounds. They work daily at the villa from 8:00am – 5:00pm, with the option to request services later into the evening for additional fees. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful during our stay.

The staff are constantly available but by no means intrusive to your experience. With the staff onsite, the villa constantly had fresh flowers adorn in the common spaces, clean bathrooms and tidy rooms, as well as fun place settings laid out before each meal.

The butler (Emmanuel) is fluent in English and can translate your needs to the rest of the staff as needed. You can also provide a grocery list if you would like the villa stocked with anything, or any specific meals prepped by the chef for dinner, and he will go out and do the shopping for you while your group relaxes!

    The Bedrooms

The accommodations within the villa were spacious, clean, and plentiful! We had a really large party on our bachelorette weekend (a group of 18 people), and not only could we all fit easily, we could have had more people!

The villa directly advertises as being able to sleep 19 people, but this does not include the huge couches (basically beds!) in the shared spaces or main suite, nor does it account for all of the extra open space in the rooms! While we did not inquire for our trip personally (since we only had 18 attendees), I am certain that there would be space to bring in extra cots, air mattresses, or beds should your party have a need (as long as it is allowed by the host).

Each bedroom was equipped with a bathroom so that guests could spread out and have their own areas. The main suite (for any guests of honor) is equipped with a sitting room, two bathrooms, and walk in closets. I really can’t imagine a better place to host a luxury event for a large group!

    The Interior Shared Spaces

Inside the villa there is also a spacious common area on the top floor of the house. This area features two seating areas with plush couches and chairs, as well as a dining area for meals that you would like to enjoy at home instead of going out.

This area made for a great landing area while people were getting ready, for those who got up early in the morning, and for a place to everyone to hang out together in one space late in the evenings.

    The Exterior Shared Spaces

Outside of the villa there was also great hosting spaces! The entire accommodation is wrapped in a wooden deck so that you can enjoy the view of the grounds from all angles. This was a great area to sit out in the morning with a cup of coffee, or to take photos together before a night out!

In front of the main suite, attached to the rest of the deck by a walkway, there was also an outdoor hosting space that included a bar, coffee table, and wrap-around couches under a covering so that they can be used rain or shine!

    The Pool Space

In the backyard of the villa there is also a pool that is big enough to fit your entire party if needed! The pool house comes with lounge chairs, umbrellas, and even some floats (though we also brought some of our own themed floats for the bachelorette party too).

umbrellas next to a pool with green grass

By the pool there is a covered dining area if you would like to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner pool side – or just have some snacks while you’re getting some sun! The butler & chef should be able to set you up nicely for your day and run things back and forth for you from the kitchen as needed.

    The Grounds

Aside from the pool, there is also ample open green space within the villa’s grounds. We were told that this villa was one of the first built in Casa de Campo, so it is actually the largest by acreage in the resort (as they went on they realized they could build smaller properties that still served their needs). So when I say there is a lot of room to play – I mean it!

We chose to have everyone participate in a morning yoga class on the grassy field behind the villa during our stay, but you could use it for team building exercises, mediation, races, football, anything you can think of! It is enclosed by trees and bushes so you still have complete privacy while using it.

There is also another dining area outside by the field under a flower covered trellis if you would like to spend an evening dining there during your visit as well! This property offers so much you might even have to make a conscious effort to make sure you find time to use everything! 🙂

    The Bathrooms

There was definitely no shortage of bathrooms at the Tropical Garden Villa. Each bedroom had a bathroom dedicated to it, and some of the bathrooms could be considered small rooms if you ask me 🙂 My shower was clean with the option of either a rain shower head or a removable hand held shower head, or you could switch between them.

Some of the bathrooms also had a tub if you would like to unwind at the end of your day – they were super nice! One of the bathtubs downstairs was so big three girls put on their bathing suits and had a spa day together in the evening!

    The Amenities

Given there is a fully equipped staff, there is pretty much no amenity this property is short of. It includes wifi, a washer, a dryer, onsite parking, a grill, and air conditioning (which is definitely needed depending on the time of year you’re visiting the Dominican Republic). You also don’t need to worry about bringing your own linens or towels as they provide that for you during your stay.

If you need anything while you’re there, you can just ask the staff for help or recommendations!

    Event Hosting

There is literally nothing bad I could say about the Tropical Garden Villa – the experience, people, and accommodation were all fantastic! I think it would be an amazing place to stay for any large party event. For us, that was a bachelorette of 18 people, but I also think it would be great for a bachelor party, special birthday party, offsite company retreat, or reunions that you’re hoping to host in Casa de Campo!

Overall, I can’t say enough good things about our stay in the Tropical Garden Villa. 10/10 recommend, probably one of if not the best place you can stay within the Casa de Campo resort. I can’t wait to hear how your trip goes in the comments below! Happy traveling 🙂
